The New West Coast Airline
This past week I saw in some of the aviation headlines that California Pacific Airlines would be starting service in November of this year. Having a new airline start service in the United States is always good news as it allows for expansion of the industry and potentially new innovations to occur. After learning more about how California Pacific Airlines gained Part 121 air carrier certification, I decided to write a FlyRadius Tower article covering their history and the route they took to finally obtain certification from the FAA.
You can read the article on the FlyRadius website here.
In that article, you will learn that the airline was able to gain certification by purchasing another airline. This is actually one of the preferred ways to gain operational certification as it is much faster than trying to obtain new certification. California Pacific Airlines had to wait almost 10 years to finally find a way to gain approval for operations.
